Description: An agglutination inhibition reaction. Commercial kit materials would create an agglutination reaction as seen in (a). If the patient's serum has antigen in it, mixing the patient's serum with the antibody first and then adding the antigen-coated beads would result in the reaction seen here. The antibody is bound by soluble antigen and no longer causes agglutination of the particles.
