Description: Occipital press. Sitting at the recipient’s head, turn the head slightly to the left. Using the second finger of your right hand, perform circular friction to the suboccipital muscles to the right of the midline. Your left hand should be supporting the person’s head by resting lightly on the left side of the forehead. Your index finger should rest gently on the spot known in India as the “third eye,” the area between and just above the eyes. The hand on the back of the head should feel as though it were plugged into the palm of the hand on the forehead. Hold and feel for a sensation of tingling. When a steady, gentle pulsation is felt in the hands, or a minute or so has passed, turn the head to the other side and repeat, switching hands.
