Description: The MoFe protein is an a2b2-heterotetramer that contains two novel iron–sulfur complexes—the P cluster, which contains seven sulfurs and eight irons, and the iron–molybdenum cofactor (FeMo-co), which, as shown, contains nine sulfurs, seven irons, and one molybdenum atom coordinated to a molecule of R-homocitrate through its 2-hydroxy and 2-carboxyl groups.
