Henry Lillie Pierce Fund (99.538). Black-figure technique Slip was used to silhouette shapes of figures against unpainted clay. Details were incised using a sharp tool. Red-figure technique Painters covered the pot with slip but reserved space for figures. Instead of engraving details, painters drew using liquid slip.
