Description: Brian Williams is a familiar face to many U.S. television viewers. As the main anchor at NBC starting in 2004, his nightly accounts of the news promised viewers timely, reliable information. In 2015, however, he was suspended over an incident in which he misrepresented his involvement in an incident during the Iraq War in 2003. Williams had made claims about riding in a helicopter that was shot at and had to make an emergency landing, when in reality he had been in the aircraft behind the one that took on gunfire. Was this a case of lying, embellishment, confabulation, or simply an example of faulty memory?
