Description: (a) Messenger RNA codons are complementary and antiparallel to DNA triplets of the template strand. (b) Ribosomes initiate translation of mRNA at the start codon and move along the mRNA in the 3 direction, adding each new amino acid to the nascent polypeptide by reading each codon. Transfer RNA molecules carry amino acids to ribosomes, where the tRNA anticodon sequences interact with codon sequences of mRNA. Translation terminates when the ribosome encounters a stop codon.
