Description: New tissues arise by divisions of undifferentiated cells in root apical meristem. Some of the dividing cells are pushed to the periphery of the apical meristem, where they begin to differentiate as protoderm, procambium, and ground meristem. Cells in these primary meristem tissues divide and fully differentiate into dermal, vascular, and ground tissues, respectively.
