Description: (A) If we mistakenly believe that dark coloration is a derived trait, this may not lead us to misinterpret the relationships among species 1, 2, and 3. (B) If a derived trait has arisen recently and appears in only one of the two most closely related species, the two more distantly related species share the same trait. In this case, we call the trait a symplesiomorphy. Picture Stats: Views: 1893 Filesize: 113.7kB Height: 845 Width: 1350 Source: https://biology-forums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=5304 |
