| Description: (a) When touched by wind gusts or animal movements, spores puff from fruiting bodies of the puffball fungus (Lycoperdon perlatum). (b) Insects visit fruiting bodies of stinkhorn fungi, such as Phallus impudicus, attracted by foul odours and colours like those of dung or rotting meat. Spores, produced in a sticky matrix, attach to the insects and are carried away.
