| Description: False-coloured image of T4 bacteriophage incubated with a de novo-designed self assembling peptide fibre (SAF). Small peptides, 28 amino acids long, self assemble to form fibres ~80 nm wide and ~40 microns long. The T4 tail striation distance was being used as a high-resolution calibrant to register the lateral striations of the fibre.
