Description: Meet Snappy - an 8ft 2 inch crocodile. He's also (in case you didn't notice) bright orange. According to his keeper, Snappy is very territorial and a few weeks back he decided to attack the water filter enclosure at Roaming Reptiles animal park in Australia. Since then, he has apparently become progressively more orange. It doesn't seem to have affected him in any other way though - appetite and attitude are all as normal. A crocodile expert interviewed by a newspaper in Australia has suggested that the colouring is a result of something in the water like iron, tannins from leaves, or red algae. All of these could leave an orange reddish colour as they dry on his skin.
