Answer to Question 1

Most children with special needs can be mainstreamed or included in regular
classrooms as long as they are provided some special resources. The federal
government requires, in fact, that special needs children be placed in the least
restrictive environment, i.e., that they are mainstreamed to the greatest extent
possible. Teachers or teaching assistants are required to formulate an individual
education plan (IEP), outlining the goals, activities, and expected outcomes for the
child. These activities are often provided through special resources such as a
resource room especially equipped to assist the child.

Answer to Question 2

Selective attention is the ability to focus on one thing while ignoring other things in
the environment. This ability helps children listen and block out distractions and
therefore retain more information. Automatization is the repetition of sequences of
thoughts and actions to the point at which they become routine. Neural processing
becomes more efficient as children need to think less when engaging in routine
tasks to free their brains to acquire more complex skills.

Every flu season is different, and even healthy people can get extremely sick from the flu, as well as spread it to others. The flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. Every person over six months of age should get an annual flu vaccine. The vaccine cannot cause you to get influenza, but in some seasons, may not be completely able to prevent you from acquiring influenza due to changes in causative viruses. The viruses in the flu shot are killed—there is no way they can give you the flu. Minor side effects include soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given. It is possible to develop a slight fever, and body aches, but these are simply signs that the body is responding to the vaccine and making itself ready to fight off the influenza virus should you come in contact with it.
