If you had limited funds and could only afford to support a primary, secondary, or tertiary prevention program regarding maltreatment, where would you target your money? Why?

Answer to Question 1

Answers will vary, but the student should show a good understanding of the three
types of prevention. Answers should include that it would be wisest to prevent
maltreatment before it ever occurs (primary prevention).

Answer to Question 2

Students should mention both short-term and long-term consequences. In addition,
they should note that the duration of the abuse and the age at which it began play a
role in determining the consequences.
