Folayan is very proud of her Nigerian heritage. She likes to wear the clothing that her aunt in Lagos sends her for her birthday every year and enjoys learning about her family's history and the history of her people. She also enjoys the rock music that she's downloaded to her MP3 player and loves going to the movies and hanging out with all of the other teenagers at her school near the university in Iowa City.
