The student should indicate that the three most important suggestions for establishing a strong stepfamily are as follows: 1. have a strong, committed relationship with your new partner; 2. listen, be empathetic, but don't parentlet the biological parent do the discipline; and 3. join a stepparenting group for support. Discussion should include the student's supported opinion concerning which suggestion is most important.
