Answer to Question 1

To fuel growth and activity, children in middle childhood need 2,000 calories a day. Nutrition is more than calories. Children need to eat healthy foods--fruits and vegetables, fish, poultry, and whole grains. Children also need to limit intake of facts, sugar, and starches.
