Answer: Socially accepted children receive more likes than dislikes on a sociometric measure. Socially rejected children receive more dislikes than likes. Socially accepted children are often cooperative, helpful, friendly, and kind. Socially rejected children are often either aggressive or socially withdrawn.

Answer: A protective factor for single, African American mothers can be the presence of an extended family that they can rely upon.
