Answer to Question 1

False

Answer to Question 2

A cerebral vascular accident (or stroke) is caused by interrupted blood flow to the brain as the result of a blockage or hemorrhage of a cerebral artery. These blocks may be related to atherosclerosis. They are the leading cause of disability and the third leading cause of death in the USA. A transient ischemic attack involves an interruption of the blood flow to the brain and can be an early warning sign of a stroke. Vascular dementia results from a series of small CVAs. It can have a sudden onset and nongradual progression. It tends to result in neurological symptoms, though the symptoms can vary greatly from person to person.
