From 1928 to 1933 the Nazi's became the largest party in the German parliament and were the biggest party overall. The German Chancellor at the time, Paul Von Hindenburg, asked Hitler to form a government in January 1933. The governing elite were certain that they could manipulate the Nazi's and control Hitler. You know how that worked out!!
