Answer to Question 1

In both men and women, the heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration return to
pre-excitement levels. The penis returns to its flaccid state. Men experience a refractory period,
when they are incapable of achieving an erection. The length of the refractory period is directly
associated with age and other factors such as health and lifestyle habits. Women do not experience refractory periods and are capable of multiple orgasms if they are effectively stimulated.
