Answer to Question 1

Responses will vary based on selection of images. Graphic designers creatively employ logos and symbols to communicate information. Before our modern ideas about art were in place, artists often worked for clients who expected them to convey a message, whether it was a religious doctrine or a historical event. Graphic designers continue this task employing new technologies to the principles of communicative clarity and visual elegance.

Answer to Question 2

With the invention of moveable type, someone had to decide on the exact form to create a visually unified alphabet. Drer was the person who experimented with the design of well-balanced letterforms. Today's graphic designers have a goal to communicate a specific message to a group of people, and the success of a design is measured by how well that message is conveyed.
