Answer to Question 1

Bosch drew upon many sources, such as folklore, literature, religious writings, and astrology, for his fantasy-themed Renaissance triptych.

Picasso's Guernica was a response to the violence of war unleashed against ordinary citizens. He employed symbolic imagery to portray the horrors of the event. Delacroix's Liberty conveyed his support for the Revolution of 1830 and personified Liberty herself as a Greek statue.
