Answer to Question 1

Readers usually prefer shorter, average-length sentences because they are easy to read and communicate with more clarity. However, keeping all sentences short can make the message sound monotonous, unrealistic or elementary. First paragraphs are usually short (one to four lines), and other paragraphs are no longer than six lines. A short first paragraph is more inviting to read. A short last paragraph adds emphasis to the closing.
