Hooking up is a casual sexual encounter with no strings attached. After an initial hookup, partnersmay hook up again or, in some cases, start dating and become exclusive couples. In contrast, getting together involves a group of friends who meet at someone's house or a party. Getting together relieves females of sexual pressure because they may help organize the get-together, share in the expenses, and come alone or with friends.
