Such sexualization can result in females being dissatisfied with their bodies, experiencing low self-esteem, tolerating sexual harassment and sexual violence, and a greater likelihood of having sex at an early age. Sexualized messages are reaching ever-younger audiences and teach or reinforce the idea that girls and women should be valued for their sexiness rather than their personalities and abilities.
