Answer to Question 1

b1 = -3.18; This tells us that for each additional lecture skipped, the student's final score on average decreases by 3.18 points (assuming that the other independent variables in the model are held constant).;
b2 = 0.63; This tells us that for each additional mid-term test score point, the student's final score on average increases by .63 points (assuming that the other independent variables in the model are held constant).

Answer to Question 2

0.30; This means that 30 of the variation in the student's final grade in statistics is explained by the three variables: number of lectures skipped, number of late assignments, and mid-term test grade, while 70 remains unexplained.

Drug abusers experience the following scenario: The pleasure given by their drug (or drugs) of choice is so strong that it is difficult to eradicate even after years of staying away from the substances involved. Certain triggers may cause a drug abuser to relapse. Research shows that long-term drug abuse results in significant changes in brain function that persist long after an individual stops using drugs. It is most important to realize that the same is true of not just illegal substances but alcohol and tobacco as well.
