Answer to Question 1

H0 : 1 = 2 = 3 = 0 vs. H1 : At least one 1 is not equal to zero
Test statistics: F = 6.626. Reject H0 if F > F0.05,3,16 = 3.24, therefore, reject H0 at the 5 significance level, and conclude that the model is useful in predicting the price of gold.
