One possible answer is that Customs Service employees, whose human dignity is offended by being subjected to warrantless and suspicionless drug testing, will ultimately develop a hardened attitude toward the content of the Fourth Amendment, as will other federal officials aware of this interpretation of the Fourth Amendment, or subject to a similar form of testing. And, we the people who become subject to the administration of these federal officials who have a diminished respect for the right to privacy, may find our own rights diminished by these individuals.
