Answer to Question 1

The labor dispute arose when one of the petitioner's supervisors and certain members of his crew who were not in the bargaining unit relocated certain merchandise in frozen food cases in one of the petitioner's supermarkets. The union demanded that the employer remove the merchandise and have the freezer restocked by union members. The employer refused, and the Clerks Union engaged in a strike.
