Released from endothelial cells in the region where a clot is formed; also administered intravenously to dissolve blood clots in the coronary arteries following a heart attack

protein C: inactivates factors VIII and V
antithrombin III: inactivates thrombin and other coagulation factors
plasmin: dissolves fibrin in blood clots
