Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
The PTT is increased (prolonged) in patients with severe hemophilia A because of a significant decrease in factor VIII. The PT and TT are both normal.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
Hemophilia A causes anatomic bleeds, including deep muscle and joint bleeds. Major bruising is associated with platelet abnormalities.
