Apoptosis is programmed cell death, which is a normal physiologic process eliminating unwanted, abnormal, or harmful cells. It is different from accidental death because of traumathis is called necrosis.

The thymus contains lymphoid cells that undergo conditioning in the thymus and become T cells.
