Answer to Question 1

Answer: The relative concentration is the percentage of cells counted in a 100-cell differential. The relative concentration of lymphocytes can be increased when there is neutropenia with a normal WBC.
The absolute concentration is calculated from the total WBC count and the percentage of the particular cell found from the differential count. An absolute lymphocytosis can occur in infectious mononucleosis or other viral infection.
