Answer to Question 1

Monocular microscopes have a single eyepiece; binocular microscopes have two eyepieces that can be adjusted to compensate for the visual acuity of the user and to adjust comfortably to fit the distance between the eyes.

Answer to Question 2

Chronic-ongoing, long term, are the most serious and debilitating. Acute-sudden onset, sharp or severe, are usually of a short duration.

The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
