Answer to Question 1

A
Pneumaturia, or gas in the urine, can occur if there is an abnormal passage between the bladder and vagina. A fistula would not cause hematuria, oliguria, or dysuria.

Answer to Question 2

B
The emergency contraceptive Uliprisal (Ella) requires a prescription. It prevents pregnancy by prolonging ovulation and can be taken up to 5 days after unprotected sex. The woman is advised to take an antiemetic prior to each dose to minimize nausea and vomiting. Antiemetics are not necessary before levonorgestrel. Plan B one-step is one tablet of levonorgestrel only, taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex; the tablet was approved in July 2009 and is available without prescription to women over 17 years of age. After using any emergency contraception, the patient should be referred for counseling and follow-up care.
