Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 1
Narcotics may cause constipation. Over-the-counter pain relievers, sleep aids, and oral contraceptives do not affect elimination patterns.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 3
For a stool culture the stool is collected immediately after defecation. With vaginal bleeding, it is possible that menstrual blood could mix with the stool during defecation. The small bowel series, barium enema, and colonoscopy will not be impacted by menstrual bleeding.

People who have myopia, or nearsightedness, are not able to see objects at a distance but only up close. It occurs when the cornea is either curved too steeply, the eye is too long, or both. This condition is progressive and worsens with time. More than 100 million people in the United States are nearsighted, but only 20% of those are born with the condition. Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.

Chronic necrotizing aspergillosis has a slowly progressive process that, unlike invasive aspergillosis, does not spread to other organ systems or the blood vessels. It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.
