A client is thankful that newly obtained burns are not serious because they aren't causing much pain. What should the nurse respond to the client?
 
  1. Your burns are pretty deep and have destroyed some of the pain receptors.
  2. Yes, you are fortunate to not have a lot of pain.
  3. I'm afraid you are mistaken. These are severe burns.
