The nurse is preparing a client scheduled for an arthroscopy of the elbow. When the client asks whether there will be any restrictions after the procedure, the nurse explains:
 
  1. You will need to keep the elbow elevated for 1-2 days.
  2. You will need to limit ROM in the joint until the sutures are removed.
  3. The elbow will be kept in a sling for 2 weeks.
  4. There are no restrictions, unless you have a lot of pain.

A client scheduled for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the shoulder expresses concern over radiation exposure. The nurse should provide which information to the client?
