The nurse is preparing discharge teaching for a client recovering from endoscopic sinus surgery. What should this teaching include?

  3. Sneeze with your mouth closed.
  4. Avoid blowing your nose and strenuous exercising for a week.

2. A humidifier or saline spray is recommended.
3. The mouth should be open when sneezing.
4. Avoiding nose blowing and strenuous exercise will reduce the chance of disrupting the surgical site and will maintain patency of the sinuses.

2. Sterile saline is used to clean the inner cannula.
