2. Capillary refill of the nail beds is monitored as an indicator of cardiac output.
3. Paresthesia is numbness around the mouth and in the toes and fingers, and occurs with metabolic alkalosis.
4. Hyperactive reflexes are seen with metabolic alkalosis.

1. One bath a day is sufficient for this client.
2. Normal routine oral care is planned.
3. Ambulation might not be possible until the client's magnesium is higher.
