Answer to Question 1

Answer: B, E

For the client with disturbed sensory perception, interventions should include adequate nutrition and smoking cessation. Pain medication, relaxation, and rest are interventions appropriate for pain management.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: C, D

The client has a daily alcohol intake of one six-pack of beer. Alcohol abuse is a risk factor for the development of acquired peripheral neuropathy. The client has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Thyroid disorders are a risk factor for the development of acquired peripheral neuropathy. Employment as a computer operator might cause some localized nerve compression in the wrists but would not explain the numbness and tingling of the feet. Working as an automobile mechanic and playing tennis would not cause peripheral neuropathy.
