Answer to Question 1

Answer: D

Evidence of macular degeneration is blurred central vision with peripheral vision intact. Using peripheral vision to be able to read the paper is evidence of macular degeneration. Cloudy vision is seen with cataracts. There is not enough information to determine if the client is having vision changes from a stroke. Floaters are benign, dark spots that appear in the field of vision and usually do not need to be treated unless they create blind spots.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: B

The onset of bradycardia must be evaluated. Timoptic is a beta blocker. It is associated with bradycardia in some clients. Reduced urinary output is associated with the use of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. Excessive salivation and diarrhea are associated with the use of miotic medications.
