Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 2

The piston is found in the volume-oriented SMI, not the flow-oriented SMI. All of the other actions would be correct for both volume-oriented and flow-oriented SMIs.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 3

The client should be taught to hold the breath for 3-5 seconds to help maintain open alveoli, not 30-40 seconds. The other teaching points would be correct.
