Answer to Question 1

Correct Answer: 3

In order to safely move the client down the incline, the nurse's body is positioned between the client and the incline and the nurse backs the client down the slope. Locking the brakes on one wheel would prevent the chair from moving. Pushing the chair forward would risk losing control of the chair, resulting in injury to the client. Zigzagging would be difficult to control, and still risks losing control of the chair.

Answer to Question 2

Correct Answer: 4

The client should be seated far back in the chair to avoid injury. Until the client is seated, the nurse would not unlock the wheels, apply the seat belt, or position the supports.
