Ultrasound is a form of imaging in which high-frequency sound waves are reflected from body tissue and the pulses are recorded and viewed as images.

Therapeutic ultrasound is the use of ultrasound to treat diseased or damaged tissue. It is used in peripheral vascular vessels and vessels of the head, neck, and heart.
