Bulimic patients will: sneak food; have recurrent episodes of binge eating with or without purging; are usually of a normal body weight; use laxatives, vomiting or excessive exercise to purge food; lose enamel on their teeth from frequent exposure to the hydrochloric acid from the stomach when vomiting; and may have Russell's sign, or teeth marks on the knuckles from self-induced vomiting.
