4. College students are an at risk population for contracting meningitis since they live in close proximity to each other. The meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) is recommended for college students for the prevention of meningitis.

Answer to Question 2

The parents are taught not to remove the ring prematurely. It will fall off as the area heals. Tub baths should be delayed until the ring falls off. There is no need to dress the area, and the dark ring will disappear with healing.
