A 10-year-old boy with hemophilia A slipped on the ice and bumped his knee. Which emergency measure would you teach him to do at home?
 
  A) Apply a tourniquet to decrease blood flow to the area.
  B) Begin an intravenous infusion of factor VIII.
  C) Administer an injection of factor X.
  D) Apply a warm compress to increase blood absorption.
