Answer to Question 1

D
Seeming uninterested in the activities of adults around him is characteristic of the preschooler. Preschoolers tend to focus on imagination and socialization. Anxiety is more characteristic of the middle childhood developmental level. The school-aged child will appear disturbed by the noise in the childbirth setting.

Answer to Question 2

B
Lacerations are a common cause of urinary retention during early postpartum. Excessive blood loss may lead to deficient fluid volume but not urinary retention. Rapid labor and multiparity are not risk factors for postpartum urinary retention.
