Answer to Question 1

ANS: a, b, c
Protein and vitamin C assist with tissue healing. Rehydrating a woman after delivery can assist with decreasing risk for infections. Early ambulation decreases risk for infection by promoting uterine drainage. The woman should not wash her breasts with soap because soap can dry the tissue and increase the woman's risk for tissue breakdown.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: a, c, d
Early voiding helps flush bacteria from the urethra. Voiding every 3 to 4 hours will decrease the risk of bacterial growth in the bladder. Soiled peri-pads are a media for bacterial growth. It is recommend that a postpartum woman drink a minimum of 3000 mL/day to help dilute urine and promote frequent voiding.
